Post Body

Eminent and Honoured Maesters,

Your guidance and wisdom have long been a boon to House Santagar, and may it ever remain so. It was over twenty five years ago that Maester Alaric graced us with his presence, during the reign of my fathers father, Ser Timoth. In that time we have been well advised and aided in all matters.

Four months ago, Maester Alaric had an unfortunate turn, and thereafter became feverish and unwell. Unfortunately our efforts to take care of him have not borne fruit, and he has sadly passed away.

Alaric was buried in the faith of the Reach, by the Septon of Olivegrove, and I can only hope that this is acceptable to the memory of the esteemed gentleman. It is our desire to do right by your order in terms of his effects, and are willing to send a retainer to have them returned to the Citadel if that is your wish. We would be deeply appreciative if you would send us a replacement, as our house is in a state of contention and needs all of the experienced aid it can muster.

We are eternally grateful for the Order of Maesters,

Ser Lywen Santagar, Knight of the Spottswood
