My fiancĆ© and I went to a restaurant last night that we have frequented often and I ordered a gluten free dish. After coming home and thinking I had food poisoning, I called the restaurant only to find out that they accidentally gave me a whole plate of pasta that was full of gluten. Guys. I ate like 2/3 of it. I havenāt consumed this much gluten since I was diagnosed 6-7 years ago. Iām in full panic mode. Any recommendations? Do I need to see a gastroenterologist?? Iām so anxious and I feel awful.
UPDATE: Wow guys thank you so much for all of your support and suggestions. I am not eating much and when I am eating I am keeping it bland and extra extra extra safe. Iām staying super hydrated as well. For those of you that wanted updates on how Iām feeling, I am just very tired and my stomach feels very tight, and it feels weird and irritated when I eat anything.I was having horrible, horrible cramps but luckily they have subsided. In regards to the restaurant, I didnāt even have a choice. My fiancĆ© was so angry she called them herself and spoke to the manager, who said that he has to talk to someone higher up for these kinds of issues. We are currently waiting for a call back. But we plan to ask for an apology, a plan of what the restaurant is going to do to ensure this doesnāt happen to anyone else, and we also want financial compensation for the meal as well as my lost wages from missing work. My fiancĆ© is in Super Protective Modeā¢ļø and also wants to ask for pain and suffering compensation, but weāll see. I saw a lot of comments saying to report it to to the health department- that may be in the cards as well. I wanted to say thank you so much again. Itās really nice to have a community rally around you in your time of need and comfort. I was feeling extremely anxious and scared and I went to an online doctor for support and advice and he was not helpful and very rude and the way he spoke to me made it seem like he thought I was over exaggerating/reacting. It made /me/ second guess myself and my own body. But coming here made me feel valid, loved, and supported. The Internet can be a wonderful place. Thank youā¤ļø
