Yesterday, my wife and I got a call with the bloodwork results for our 6yo daughter and 4yo son. My daughter has celiac, but does not have any food allergies. My son does not have celiac (or genetic risk factors for it), but he does have an extensive list of food allergies:
Almond, Cashew, Hazel nut, Sesame Seed, Soybean, Walnut, Oat, Wheat, Corn, Honey, Gluten, Pineapple, Melon, Chicken, Tomato, Avocado, Strawberry, Banana, Orange, Grapefruit, Peanut, Egg White, Milk, Lactalbumin (Whey Protein)
We are in the process of purging our kitchen, learning new recipes, etc. I made an appt for my son to see an allergist.
What kind of doctor would be best to give guidance about celiac? Any other advice or encouragement? We're feeling pretty overwhelmed with this sudden news about both kids. The doctor told us over the phone and didn't give us much guidance to go on with this information.
Edit: Made an appt to see a dietician as well.
