This is not a commentary on the state of Twitter in the year 2023, with all it's problems that are well documented. I so wish it was that simple, instead it is a cautionary tale on what happens if you get on the wrong side of the internet.

There is one rule if you are famous on Social Media, don't ever respond to the trolls. No matter what they say or how offensive it is, just ignore them. Ideally get a media/pr firm to handle Social Media for you to ensure there is absolutely zero percent chance of any sort of scandal. Well I really wish somebody had told me that.

You have no idea what it is like. Every time I post, every time I send a casual tweet or try to promote something I'm met with a mixture of thirsty weirdos and misogynistic assholes that are going to hate, troll or just say anything to get a reaction out of me. I usually do manage to avoid actually responding but one day, I decide to respond.

This is where you come in. You're a twitch streamer or a DJ or something equally talentless and unimportant. You have a tiny following and are even paying to get the little blue tick next to your name to try and seem more famous than you are. But when you respond to one of my tweets, you get more interactions than you could've ever dreamed of. It is equal parts dumb and misogynistic, so of course twitter loves it.

I don't even see the tweet at first, but it goes beyond viral and you ratio me hard. So of course that leads to you turning on my notifications and seemingly making a full time job out of ratio'ing me on twitter.

After a little while, I can't take it anymore. I send a very carefully crafted response explaining why this is immature and disrespectful. That you are being rude and urge you to stop, also mentioning the world would be a lot better if people were nicer to each other. You only respond with me 3 words. "Don't care Ratio."

This is just the start of a feud that seems to be sticking around. Not only that but your follower count has got from 4 digits to 6 and you are fast approaching 7.

Hey there. Something different from me today. Inspired in part by an idea I saw somebody else post and wanted to put my own spin on.

The premise is simple. Some z-lister dunks on me on twitter and I try to respond. It doesn't go well. Their tweets are misogynistic, demeaning and humiliating yet somehow they're the good guy!

I see this leading to some challengers and wagers that quickly get out of hand. With humiliation being my main focus. This is definitely a longer term scene.

Flexible on who I play. Ariana Grande, Zendaya and if you're a WWE / pro wrestling fan, Sasha Banks are at the top of my list right now.
