Now in your late 30s, you felt that competitive spirit again, deciding that you would make a run at Hollywood as a second career.

That's how you find yourself here, in my office, auditioning for a role way out of your league. I only invited you as a courtesy to your agent and because I was a big fan of you as an athlete and excited to meet you, but there was just no way you would land this role.

It was a rather big role in one of the most successful franchises ever, and it seems everyone except for you knew you were in way over your head.

I had heard of your failed attempts and the hardships you had to endure as a former athlete trying to make it in the movies. I couldn't think of many who succeeded, so I was feeling a little sorry for you.

The audition went as expected, I could tell that you were working hard on your skills, but with such a recognizable face everyone knew from sports, I would put my job and my career in jeopardy giving you this role. But knowing how desperate you were and seeing that desperation only grow as I made it clear to you that this was going to be another rejection, I decided to give you one more option, one that makes the risks I was taking worthwile.
