Hej venner! This is Karma, official European correspondent for The Daily Demba here. Before I get into the news I wanted to report on something that was announced on Discord but may not have made the rounds on the subreddit. It was decided that particularly unpopular celebs could stand to exist as permanent exchange candidates. For those of you who do not wish to join Discord but collect cards, it may be to your benefit to check the exchange list in the portal to see if you can get rid of some of those unwanted cards.
On a wildly unrelated note, eagle eyed hub users have already noticed the new card of the week which was added without announcement. I chose to make that the official debut but this the actual announcement. The card should have been made a long time ago but was lost in the shuffle but is now in packs. I am exceptionally proud of this one and I want to give a special adoring shoutout to /u/taytaystan who suggested it many many months ago. You were right.
The topic of how to handle votes on the subreddit has been a contentious one for a long time. Most of you have probably noticed that in recent days we have changed to a new system.
Among the reasons for this change is that the old system was notably unreliable. Given the way Reddit "fuzzes" the upvote numbers, it was impossible to have concrete numbers and on a close matchup the winner could be decided by how many times it was refreshed, which was not ideal.
That being said, this system is something new that is being tried and the mods understand if there are concerns. If you have legitimate, constructive feedback, it is recommended you contact one of them to let them know. Ultimately the goal is to have a reliable system that works for the most people possible, but there are methods to give this feedback that allow for actual discussion and understanding.
We throw it again to our reliable colleague Mr. /u/BobKey12 for his report.

Mae gâovannen mellyn! This is Bobo, the official North American correspondent from TDD. Welcome to the sixth Weekly Roundupâs sports & miscellaneous column, bringing you the latest fun news from CBL! We have a short column this week, so letâs go go go:
The NBA playoffs are midway through their second round. Bucks and Warriors have taken a (maybe surprising) lead in their matchups, 2-1, while the Suns/Mavericks & Heat/76ers are in a dead heat at 2-2. We shall see what happens next!
The NHL playoffs are also in full swing. Many of the series are tied 2-2 (including the Toronto-Tampa matchup đ). Stay tuned to this column for an update on the fantasy predictions, hopefully next week.
Letâs drift over to some F1 now. The Miami Grand Prix was this weekend, the channel was abuzz with primarily goose and yoshi commentating. Some ups and downs for the Red Bull team; first place finish for Verstappen but an engine issue for Perez. C'est la vie n'est-ce pas?
And now, the CBL Fantasy Premier League: The official numbies, provided by the boss man himself, are here and here. Looks like the Panamanian fantasy football team is doing incredibly well, and I speak for many when I say that Iâm quite excited to see how this pans out.
Thatâs all for today! Like I said a short column, though Iâm sure you were kept busy by Karma in the roundup.
Aside from fantasy leagues, we have an avid fan base of users who love to chat about sports in general, including wrestling. So if you just wanna hang around and chat about what sports youâre interested in, even if there arenât any channels for it, feel free to join us!
Onto the miscellaneous activities: we have an active card-playing community here at CBL! We mainly play blackjack, and the prizes are mainly CBL oriented: tokens, gold coins, and cards. There have also been experiments with Texas Hold âEm poker (which may see some more organisation soon đ), Monopoly, and Top Trumps. Even if youâre not interested in the CBL stuff, just join us to have fun!
That concludes the sports & miscellaneous column for this week! I hope you all enjoyed this and are inspired to weigh in on these issues. Even if you have no interest in sports or these other activities, we have an entire discussion channel dedicated to different topics. These include film/tv, video games, music (such as the los-pollos-hermanos-radio-station đ), memes, and many more! Until next time everyone.
Namårië, Bobo
Speaking of F1, a shoutout to Carlos Sainz for not crashing this time. Cheers to /u/Asura_1228 for talking some sense into him (I assume).
Yet again I am happy to present the resident monarch of signature collecting himself, /u/ic_fury. I highly recommend anyone starting relatively new pay attention and feel free to ask him questions if you want advice.
In previous columns I have gone over the basics. In todayâs column I will talk about building a Card Collection. As a collection grows, strategies and goals will change. So, for the time being, letâs assume that a person is starting a collection. A collection would start out with only a few cards from the starter pack. At that point, everything is âwide-openâ and possibilities are many.
When I started, we didnât have the starter packs and so most of my cards came from Basic Packs. Because I didnât have too many tokens, that continued for a while. In those early days, there were also fewer celebs in the database. I remember we had about 120 celebs at the time but in just a little more that 2 years, we are now at 400 celebs! Mostly, admin things were done manually, and the work was more labor-intensive, but thatâs a conversation for another time.
Even with a larger database of celebs, building cards and sets is much the same. In Basic packs, most of the cards will be Bases with some IFâs and a few SIFâs. Over time a nice collection of Base and IF cards can be assembled. The way I started was what I like to call âPyramid-buildingâ, which is combining 3 Base Cards for an IF; 3 IFâs for an SIF; and, 3 SIFâs for an XIF. After a while, you will start to see a few cards in common, some patterns in forming higher-type cards and eventually, you will have the makings of some great Signature Sets!
Now that I have described the starting of a collection, the real work begins. I will say more about that my next column. This the Sigmaster, signing off for now and looking forward to another great CBL week!
Lastly this week I wanted to make mention that with a new voting system being done on the Discord for rating celebs, a number of names are being added to the database.
- Lindsay Brewer
- Alycia Debnam Carey
- Emily Kinney
- Rose Mciver
- Kirsten Dunst
- Brittany Snow
While this system is not intended for direct additions in the future, it could be that there are future prizes wherein one can select a celeb with a certain threshold of votes to be added to the database. These possibilities are still being discussed and it's unknown exactly how that may work just yet, but as a celebration of the new system we do know that these six names ARE being added. We have seen the official kickoff of those with number 404 courtesy of the lovely /u/throwaway22243 (who needs to tell me what he wants from me so we can do our triad trade).

Amazing job, Kay! Although the people still demand a helmet visage.
That will be all for this week, but as always there is a lot more to be discussed and discovered. New cards are still being made, including a brand new ITN courtesy of a raffle commission. We believe there is a new contest being run by an enterprising kiwi for those of you interested in making posters whether with photoshop or other creative tools, more information on that can be found pinned in the general chat on Discord. And we here at TDD want to extend our well wishes to /u/celebtournament who must be suffering from some form of illness because there is no other reason why there still wouldn't be a recap of the User Tournament. Everybody should message him and wish him well and encourage him to finish it, for the people.
New users who may be interested in card collecting, here is the place you want to start. And don't forget to join our Discord https://discord.gg/Ut4FkfWprn where we are happy to answer any questions you may have, and we have a steady rollout of card reveals, giveaways, games, and fun.
Until next time! đč
