We will start off with the changes to pack odds. Not the most dramatic change we have seen but worth noting.

Of primary interest I will note that CX cards have been split into two categories with the CX2 and CX3 together and CX1 separately. The idea is to increase the odds and drops of CX1 cards which still have high interest, and anecdotally I can see that it does seem to be working already. There is still time to gather the CX collections to lay claim to PL cards.

Additionally, a few other odds have been shuffled around and we are now seeing a rise in the drop of DEN cards. I can report that some card creators are responding to this with new denim cards, a few of which I would like to feature here.

Mae g’ovannen mellyn! This is Bobo, the official North American correspondent from TDD. Welcome to the sixth Weekly Roundup’s sports & miscellaneous column, bringing you the latest fun news from CBL! We have a decently long column this week, so let’s dive right in:

The NBA playoffs are now reaching their second round. Much jubilation came from the Cali boys (and any associated bandwagons) about the Warrior’s performance yesterday. I certainly hope Boston can do a little better, though u/dgg021 might be having some words with me later 👀.

With the second round just beginning here is a score update for our playoff prediction bracket. Congrats to u/CheckingBackLater and u/TheSnickerDoodleKid for being tied for first! Looks like that numbie crunching really helped.

Let’s move on to some F1 now. The Miami Grand Prix is this weekend, so stay tuned to the column to find out the latest about what happens. We’re a few weeks in, so here’s a standings update for the predictions and race week. A surprising last place in my opinion, looks like our resident numbie cruncher isn’t doing too well actually. Numbies are a fickle thing it seems.

Now I do have a slight confession to make. It was made aware to me last week that I had neglected a significant aspect of the sports in CBL: the fantasy premier league. I can only apologise for this and will attempt to rectify this as much as I can.

I attempted to contact a few members of the league last week, but to no avail. However, this week, I was able to interview my boss, Demba himself. Here are his words:

“This season of the Premier League is coming to an end, the fight for the two Fantasy leagues, draft, and regular scoring is very tight.

draft league is headed to a triple way draw at the top, Ginger losing to the top player slayer SDK, and Demba on his way to beat Tpain (one game is being played at the moment). The regular league is less crazy, but still very competitive, [with] three game weeks to go.”

When I asked if there’s anything else he’d like to share, maybe some words to his opponents, Demba coolly responded with “No comments from Demba team, we play one game week at the time”.

And there you have it! Thank you very much for your time boss, I’m sure the readers appreciate it. Once again, apologies to everyone for the oversight, and hopefully we have more of FPL in the future.

Now, we have a lot of fantasy hockey news today. The playoffs are done! It was a hard fought battle between first and second (though not so much between third and fourth :tayhehe:), but congrats to u/jerkedpickle for winning this year’s fantasy hockey league! u/taytaystan was a close second, followed by u/TheSnickerDoodleKid in third and a very distant u/dgg021 in fourth. Congrats to everyone who participated!

On a fun side note, my direct superior and amazing creator of this roundup u/jlinstantkarma came 10th, I myself came 11th and the head Panamanian honcho of TDD u/thedemba2 himself came 12th. #TDD4Life

Finally in fantasy hockey news, u/Will_2421 has organised a playoff predictions bracket similar to the NBA for the NHL league. Unfortunately due to the short time, this is a Discord-exclusive event! This was posted yesterday and is due at 7pm EST (so probably not too long after this Roundup has been posted). To anyone in the discord reading this, go fill that out now after you’re done reading the Roundup! If you haven’t already, I’d encourage you to join our discord. Not only will you have access to these fun events, but you’ll also get to meet a fun group of people!

Aside from fantasy leagues, we have an avid fan base of users who love to chat about sports in general, including wrestling. So if you just wanna hang around and chat about what sports you’re interested in, even if there aren’t any channels for it, feel free to join us!

Onto the miscellaneous activities: we have an active card-playing community here at CBL! We mainly play blackjack, and the prizes are mainly CBL oriented: tokens, gold coins, and cards. There have also been experiments with Texas Hold ‘Em poker, Monopoly, and Top Trumps. u/sned_me_girls_feet has very graciously hosted a few Top Trumps recently, which were very fun! We hope to see more of those in the future. Even if you’re not interested in the CBL stuff, just join us to have fun!

In another feature, I happily present to you another installment from our sigmaster general himself, /u/ic_fury.

In today’s column on connecting Signature Sets, I wanted to continue my overview with some points about buying packs and trading cards. For the benefit of new users, I will start mention some resources. Once you have access to the CBL Portal, there are “Useful Links” which explain in detail about ordering packs, types of cards, currency, etc. New users receive a Starter Pack and can go from there. Generally, you can start with a small number of cards and currency which can be built up over time.

Trading with other users involves communicating with them. The best method of communication in CBL is our Discord with its many channels. In addition to Trading and Card Discussion, there are many channels covering a variety of subjects. Stop by and look around. Get to know the other users in the chat. At the risk of using the term “networking”, it is the best way to establish trading relationships and learn what others collect. As I’ve mentioned before, everything builds up over time.

At first it may seem a bit challenging but once you get started you can see what works for you and develop strategies. I believe that the most enjoyable part of collecting is watching the collection grow! It’s more than just the quantity, it’s the quality and all the surprises along the way. Just enjoy the ride!

Now that briefly covered the basics, we are ready to start talking about the actual collecting of Signature Cards. This the Sigmaster, signing off for now and looking forward to another great CBL week!

Speaking from personal experience, the act of trading cards not only is what drew me into CBL and kept me around, but has helped me become part of a larger community. Don't worry if it seems a little daunting, there are many people who are willing to help and in no time you will get the hang of it.

For our final word this week, the big story of the week is a brand new card line being announced. While not in packs yet, we've had a sneak peek at a whole new line of cards that are being created as we speak.

The glasses line of cards should lead to a great deal of creativity and flexibility, and besides these few early showings I have seen the continued efforts of various creators and I believe this will be a line to watch. In addition to these, we also saw a new SA design introduced.
