Hej venner! This is Karma, official European correspondent for The Daily Demba here. It seems there are complaints about the length of these reports, some saying they are too short and some saying they are too long. Either way, we shall endeavor to continue Spreading the True.
We are going to start off straight away with a report on the big event of the season. Our scrappy junior reporter /u/BobKey12 has filed this account.
Yesterday, we had a pack opening event from Don u/Zsabo3âs Cartel, and TDD was able to secure official media passes to the event. This reporter was nearly late, there was a huge traffic jam with what looked like a never ending sea of people attempting to get into the event. Security was quite tight at the arena, even the media had a hard time getting into the arena.
Once people entered, they were greeted by the sight of the beautiful event banner created by our very own Karma. As always, it was incredibly well done and thought out! The cartel had created a betting system as well. 12 people would be getting rewards, with 1st-7th getting a choice of pulled card, 8th-11th getting a 5GC Retro pack or 5GC Special pack and 12th (the Judas) getting a 0GC Retro or Special pack. More than 25 people submitted their predictions for how many cards of a specific tier the Don would pull.
The event started out with a bang, the Don was able to pull 3 retros and an amazing FNT in the first 2 packs. Karma was also at the event, and he reported that â[there are] reports of multiple injuries in the aftermath of the first few packs. When I attempted to get more information some suspicious looking cholos with scars on their faces advanced but they quickly stepped aside after seeing my press badge. It seems the problem is being "dealt with" and we expect relative calm from now on.â
I was also able to get in touch with the elusive Daley, who had been number 1 for quite a bit in the leaderboards. He told me âI have a good feeling about thisâ, though that sentiment quickly died once a neon was pulled by the Don, after which Daley dropped out of the leaderboard and he told me that he âHAD... a good feeling about thisâ.
There was much going back and forth between the podium, but eventually we had a winner. The numbies prevailed, and congratulations to u/CheckingBackLater for the win! Over to Karma for the interview.
Karma: The Easter Eggstravaganza was a big hit and after much drama and back and forth, you were ultimately the winner of the contest. How do you feel about your victory?
PJ: I am very proud of this achievement, especially after also winning the previous round of Zsabo pack opening! I was of course hopeful going in, since I made sure to base my guesses on lots of data. However, you never know when RNG is involved. I even heard rumours of people copying my guesses, so the tie-breaker sure made it exciting in the end!
I want to add that I am very grateful to the Don for setting up this event, once again. It was great fun!
Karma: That was actually going to be my next question, do you have any thoughts on the nefarious alleged copycats?
PJ: I am slightly confused how they could have gotten my guesses, but I can only guess that the security for the event was lacking in some way. I am sure the copycats were only trying to be as good as me, but as we all saw, it wasn't enough.
Could this be the heralding of a new meta in prediction events, hack and copy PJ? Time will tell, and The Daily Demba will be there to investigate.
We turn again to our faithful contributor Mr. Bobo.
Mae gâovannen mellyn! This is Bobo, the official North American correspondent from TDD. Welcome to the fourth Weekly Roundupâs sports & miscellaneous column, bringing you the latest fun news from CBL! We have a short column this week, so letâs get into it:
Weâre gonna start out this week with some fantasy hockey. Weâve completed our first playoff week! Congrats to all the winners (including myself⊠somehow đ), and especially a congrats to u/taytaystan and u/jerkedpickle, who will be battling it out for first and second. Good luck to everyone!
Next up, some F1. The channel will once again be active because of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix this weekend, so if you want to catch some vroom vroom do join the discord.
With the play-in tournament complete, the NBA playoffs have also started. The american-sports channel was quite active, including celebrations from u/throwaway22243 and u/dgg021 for the Hawks losing and the Bucks Warriors winning. Additionally, congrats to u/Dash-4 for having a perfect bracket from our playoff predictions event!
Aside from fantasy leagues, we have an avid fan base of users who love to chat about sports in general, including wrestling. So if you just wanna hang around and chat about what sports youâre interested in, even if there arenât any channels for it, feel free to join us!
Onto the miscellaneous activities: we have an active card-playing community here at CBL! We mainly play blackjack, and the prizes are mainly CBL oriented: tokens, gold coins, and cards. There have also been experiments with Texas Hold âEm poker, Monopoly, and Top Trumps, which we hope to see more of in the future. If youâre not interested in the CBL stuff, just join us to have fun!
That concludes the sports & miscellaneous column for this week! I hope you all enjoyed this and are inspired to weigh in on these. Even if you have no interest in sports or these other activities, we have an entire discussion channel dedicated to different topics. These include film/tv, video games, music, memes, and many more! Until next time everyone.
Namårië, Bobo
On a more biased note, I just want to mention that Miguel Cabrera is but 5 hits away from 3,000 and this reporter is fixing to be very, very excited. Go Tigers!
For our final story, I wanted to quickly highlight a weekly feature that those of you not on the Discord server may be unaware of. Every weekend a host opens up signups for a Hunger Games simulation. Each user is allowed to enter the name of a tribute and prizes are rewarded depending on their performance.
- Each kill gives you 1 GC
- Winner who also has most kills gets 1600 tokens and a Top tier roll
- Winner and most kills gets 1600 tokens and a High tier roll (if winner doesn't qualify for both)
- 2nd in Survival and Kills get 800 tokens and a High tier roll
- 3rd - 5th in Survival and Kills get Mid tier roll
- 6th - 16th in Survival get Low tier roll
- 3 kill gives 5 EXP in addition to the GCs for the kills
- Random SIF for other members of the winning district
Not to mention that database celebs who are entered can also qualify for Hunger Games Special Award cards. Here is a sample of a few of the cards won this past weekend:

Another feature of the weekly Hunger Games is betting, in which you can stake tokens, gold coins, or exchange points on specific results or circumstances. Our very own /u/thedemba2 will provide a vibe check on gambling each week.
I strongly encourage everyone to join in. The simulation is run and sent in the server as a live event, and it usually draws a fun crowd cheering on their tributes. Also, I'm usually pretty drunk for it.
I am very happy to present to you this message from the Sigmaster General himself, /u/ic_fury
Hi, Sigmaster Fury here! For those of who are new as well as veterans, I have been fortunate enough to collect most of the Signature Sets! In the spirit of encouraging others, I wanted to write a column on the subject for the Weekly Update. For this first column, I will present a brief overview of Signature Sets.
In order to qualify for a Signature Card, the user needs to have a Base, IF, SIF and XIF of a Celeb. While the most obvious way to acquire needed cards is to purchase packs, there are several sources available to refine the collection. These include Card Trading, Slots/Lotto/Raffle, Combining Cards and the Exchange System. I will post a weekly column covering these sources in detail.
For this first column I would like to offer some words of encouragement. It takes time or as they say, âPlaying the long game!â. Once in a while, everything can fall into place right away but that is very rare. It is better to look at each new new card as an opportunity than a disappointment. While a card might not serve an immediate use, save it for later or trade to another who may need it.
In between columns, please feel free to DM me with questions or areas that you would like to see included. Signature Card Collecting is fun! Enjoy!
Additionally, I would like to add that for those who are interested in collecting signature cards, fury himself has been accumulating duplicates and selling them off. Don't miss out!
That will do it for this week. I hear the Don may be planning another event for summer, and you will not want to miss out. Maybe it will around the same time that /u/celebtournament posts a wrapup of the User Tournament.
New users who may be interested in card collecting, here is the place you want to start. And don't forget to join our Discord https://discord.gg/Ut4FkfWprn where we are happy to answer any questions you may have, and we have a steady rollout of card reveals, giveaways, games, and fun.
Until next time! đč
