Is the Book of Revelation meant to be taken literally according to Catholicism?

I am specifically interested in the church's interpretation of the Mark of the Beast mentioned in Revelation. Does the Church teach that there will actually be a mark imposed on people in order to buy and sell and people will automatically be damned if people take it? I've been hearing a lot of chatter in Evangelical circles about the COVID vaccine being the Mark of the Beast. It seems like many of them are not planning on taking the vaccine because it could be the Mark. I'm curious about the Catholic perception on all this.
