Is this a question priests ask before marriage? Would this be a reason why a priest might refuse to officiate a wedding?
Post Body

Here's the question: "What would you do if your future spouse left you or was unfaithful?"

The reason why I bring this up is that marital infidelity and divorce are major precipitants for suicide, particularly in men. I would imagine the risk is greater for Catholics, for whom remarriage is impossible.

I wonder if a lot of guys actually go into marriages with the expectation that this would likely be their response. Would such an expectation be a reason why a priest might refuse to officiate a wedding, or do they just not ask the question and hope for the best?
