Among other subreddits, there is so much vitriol and hate. Especially when more... Touchy subjects come up. An example would be abortion (if you know the post then yeah), that OP made another post on r/prolife and man, it was horrible. They called the woman a monster and to cut her out of the family, they were so so terrible. The girl was 16, 16. At 16 I didn't even know how to drive, I didn't know how to do taxes, and I had yet to find out anything about myself, I was so lost. If I went through what that girl did at that age, I think it would've destroyed me. Especially being cut off from the people who are suppose to raise you and love you.
All that said, unlike the prolife subreddit, you all came into the scenario with love and understanding. Instead of hate and vitriol, instead of calling the girl a monster, you all told the OP to love their sister, be there for them. We all sin. That doesn't mean we can't still love or be there for sinners. Jesus did the same, he cared for sinners. Even the two men who died with him on the cross were loved, regardless of their sins.
So thank you. That whole debacle has pushed me to convert. That and my best friend is also Catholic lol, so wish me luck on my journey. I wish you all a great day :)
