Toys for a cat who likes bobby pins & chewing, get her to stop attention-biting?
Post Body

Hi everyone! On Sunday I brought home my first pet that I'm taking care of on my own, a sweet 1 year old cat named Freyja. My darling girl is good with her litter box (as long as it's clean), loves her scratching furniture, and even likes belly rubs when she's in an affectionate mood.

My issue is getting her to let out some steam. She sometimes gets bottled-up and starts mouthing my hand/face/arm to get attention and I've done a lot of research and found that she likely needs more play time since she's an only cat. I've been doing morning and evening play sessions but she sometimes doesn't engage, or engages for a few minutes before sitting down as if she's bored. Then she gets wacky, I try to play, and she ignores the toys.

I have a feather-on-a-string toy, laser pointer, stuffed catnip-filled squirrel, and some catnip mice. Of all of them she likes the laser pointer the best, but also LOVES chewing the handle of the feather toy (and any of the reusable plastic straws I use in water glasses). Yet her favorite toy of all is a bobby pin on the ground. She'll chase it and play with it herself, and loves scrambling after it if I kick it across the room.

I've opened the pin so it's at a 90 degree angle so she can't swallow it, but I'd love some more cat-safe toys that we can play with together and she can use on her own. Any recommendations?

(I also just bought this rubber shrimp and this toy multi-pack from Amazon - hoping there are some hits there!)
