My cat keeps peeing on the couch and I can’t get him to stop. I don’t want to get him neutered either unless it’s the absolute last resort. My parents don’t want to keep his litter box inside so I put it in the patio and I try my best to read when he needs to potty and put outside. Sometimes when I do that he doesn’t potty and just sits and call for me to put him inside. He eventually ends up either pooping inside or peeing on the couch instead of his litter box. Last night I decided to pull a test. I let him sleep in my room for the night and see if there was any changes or if he was gonna pee on my carpet. He in fact didn’t and still ended up finding a way to pee in the couch without me knowing. My parents and brother are pissed and now I’m leaning to try to buy a cat deterrent to put on the couch but I don’t know if it’s gonna add an odor or if a fabric refresher would work with it. Do you guys have any advice?
