My mom took matters into her own hands and rescued this 3 year old girl from a neglecful home

Post Body

My mom hear rumours in her small village about this neglected indoor cat. She's 3 years old, not fixed (never had kittens), not vaxxed and 2kg underweight. I don't want to go into too much detail to keep it short. She got the owners to go to the vet with the cat in her company and the vet was quite shocked. They did bloodwork to decide how to continue and thankfully she seems at least healthy when it comes to this. At the follow up appointment the vet very directly told the owners that the cat is in bad shape and they can't keep her because they neglect her. All shelters and rescue organisations are overflowing with animals but my mom (who has cats since 2003) was willing to take her in. She wasn't planning to adopt a thrid cat but she had to act after hearing the humours, especially after they ended up being true. Sadly we need to wait with fixing her until end of the month because my mom can't take days off before and we (including the vet) want to make sure she's not alone the days after the surgery. Which she would be otherwise because my mom works a full-time job. Any advice from people who dealt with a similar situation would be very much appreciated.
