He’s about 4 years old and a big boy (~16 pounds). He jumps on my lap more than once after pushing him off; will do things he know will piss me off when he doesn’t get what he wants (go behind the TV bc he chews on chords and he knows I’ll get up to move him out); meows loudly when I ignore him; tries to lay on my chest when I’m laying down and will push against my hand if I try to get him to move to a different area (he’s heavy!); scratches things he isn’t supposed to…
I try to redirect, stay calm, reinforce being calm by giving him attention when he’s chill, and have been investing in more enrichment. He’s clearly anxious and feels like he needs to cling to me at all times. This behavior got WORSE during quarantine, which doesn’t make sense to me bc he used to be alone all the time while I was in grad school. Plus I have another cat he is bonded to! So they play! Why is he like this and does anyone have tricks for a car that can’t handle entertaining himself? ðŸ˜
