I adopted a 7 year old male cat a few months ago from the shelter. When I got him, he had a lion cut so his fur wasn't a big problem, but now that his fur has grown out, he's getting knots everywhere and trying to brush him has been a huge pain in the ass.
He grudgingly accepts getting brushed everywhere BUT his stomach now, but he's got the beginnings of a matted belly. It took months of coaxing him with treats to even get brushed on his back, and I don't think he'll ever accept tummy brushing :( What can I do about this? He's even upset if I try to trip the giant knot off.
