Why does my adult cat keep trying to eat my kitten??

Hello! My parents have gotten a kitten in the past week (male 7-8 weeks old) and their adult cat (male unneutered, yeah and half a old) is constantly attacking the kitten. It’s not asserting dominance kind of attacking. He stalks the kitten, like prey, and when he attacks he goes for the head near the eyes or the belly. And he never stops. We have to keep the kitten up or caged. How can we stop this? How can we help both of them? Please help!
