We have 4 cats here, and 4 litter boxes (2 in the basement).
Apparently, somebody can't aim very well when pooping, as they consistently go outside the box (near it by about 3-4 feet) on this one particular box (basement, near the laundry).
We aren't sure which of the 4 cats is doing it, because the box is seeing regular (and quite heavy) use.
It's not the litter (we've tried 3 different kinds), and all 4 cats are healthy (all 4 are between 14-16 years old).
We've tried all the various sprays, and they have zero effect. The box is the same size as the others, so we can rule that out too.
From the amount, we're fairly certain it's just one cat doing it, consistently, even when the box is freshly cleaned.
Putting storage containers where our little bombardier strikes just results in them pooping either on or right against the obstruction, too.
We even tried moving the box (this one is in the basement) to where our mystery pooper is aiming, and they still hit the same distance away from the box.
Personally, I think it's Strife (the only boy in our little colony), but I have yet catching him in the act.
Is there something else we can try?
