One of my cats prefers social eating but INSISTS on social drinking. He will not drink water from the ācat fountainā that our other cat will use, instead he will only drink out of a running tap while we pet him and some times we even have to lift a bowl/ our cupped palms to him. I know this sounds like learned behavior or that we are spoiling him but heās had urine issues in the past and his vet always says to make sure he gets enough water, so our number one priority is to make sure he drinks enough water- whatever it takes.
Has anyone else dealt with this behavior? Iād love for him to eventually drink on his own but it might not be in the cards. It also makes me very worried that we canāt leave him for more than a half of a day or have a cat sitter because he may not get enough water.
TIA for any advice!
