Is it normal that my cat doesn’t really like toys

Post Body

I am a first time cat owner and I’ve had my little guy for about 4 months (he’s 3 year old orange cat). It’s just me and him in my apartment so since I leave to go to work every day I tried to get him some toys that he could play with on his own to keep himself entertained. Long story short I have pretty much bought every kind of automatic toy (automatic laser, flapping bird toy, automatic wand toy etc). Normally he will play with it and be interested for a day and then never acknowledge it again. He doesn’t play with little fake mice or plastic springs or anything. The one thing he does like is the normal wand toy I have but obviously I have to be there with him for him to play with it. Is this normal? Do you have any ideas for toys that could keep him entertained? Sometimes I have to leave him for a day or two and I feel so guilty or sad that he is depressed all alone. Any advice or words of encouragement would help!
