I have a 15 3/4yo cat who was diagnosed with severe kidney failure a couple months ago. The kicker is she's barely shown any signs of it. Even the vets are perplexed as most cats in her state have no appetite, no energy, are dehydrated and are underweight, and aside from drinking more often she's none of these. They told me there's nothing they can do, she can't take any meds, and all I can do is watch for any signs that she's getting worse.
Well, it's gotten worse. She's started having episodes of agonizing pain, it's like all the symptoms suddenly come out at once. My gut knows it's time, but I can't bring myself to book her last vet appointment.
On her good days she's still the loving wacky girl I've always known, which makes me feel like a monster for even thinking of having to do this. But I really don't want her to suffer like she has on her bad days...
Idk how to deal with this... Any support or advice would help
Edit: she had another bad episode today which gave me the push I needed to call. I feel relieved and sick that I was able to finally do it, but I know it's for the best. We have all of Friday to spend together before her appt in the afternoon, and all my evenings up until then are all dedicated to her ❤️
