Why does my kitten just sleep when I'm not there?

My kitten just sleeps when I'm not there. I know because every time I go to her after she's been alone she is asleep. She only plays when I'm there and plays on her own or with me. Why is this so? Not concerned, just curious.

2 things. 1: kittens sleep a lot as everyone has said

2: just because she's asleep when you leave, and asleep when you return, doesn't mean she wasn't awake in the interim. There could have been a 15-20 minute zoom session before returning to the Exact Same Position™️ or a quick poop, or some food, or all 3.
