hi ! so, i am not particularly sure where to start BUT. i have two kittens at the moment... my older one is named macaroni (male), six months old recently neutered, & then i have a younger kitten that is about 3-ish months old that's named cammie (male) & not neutered yet due to age !
they seem to really like each other & crave being around each other but at the same time.. when they play, they play pretty rough. it's a little alarming and even jarring at times ? there hasn't been any actual wounds or blood. but, cammie will scream, cry, and hiss at macaroni despite instigating play ?
i am not very sure if i should let them play it out and learn given they both seemingly haven't been around anyone else for play ? do i keep them separated every time this happens (it happens multiple times during play but they'll go right back to it and run off together). i just worry they'll hurt or begin hating each other if i don't go about this the right way and so i want to make sure this isn't something i need to be more strict about.
additional info: cammie was separated from macaroni off & on for about two weeks or longer now. i plan to try a feliway diffuser here soon... i just accidentally bought a refill and not the actual kit lol. neither of them have behavioral issues outside of this. macaroni is still sweet and cuddly when he isn't playing. cammie is the same way despite being endlessly more energetic then macaroni when separated. there aren't any litterbox related issues that haven't been fixed via neutering. macaroni used to spray and pee on clothes but with some litterbox changes being neutered that has since stopped ! they both have separate automatic feeders and spaces. they share one water fountain but that's about it ! they both have toys and whatnot but seem to want to bully each other more than anything. if they are separated they will both cry at the door. :-T
i just want to make sure i include all the information that may be needed to understand this situation better !
