What does the end look like for a cat with hyperthyroidism?

Post Body

I have a 15 yo cat that was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 7 years ago. She is thin, matted, tired, and thirsty. She had long hair and I try to keep up on the fur but it’s really difficult and she hates it. She still loves going outside and occasionally lays at my head at night. She rarely likes to be touched but has always been above it all so that isn’t too strange.

Lately, she’s been pooping outside of the litter box. She pees in the litter box but just poops wherever. Not even the same place each time. Today I noticed blood while cleaning up. It’s bright red.

I’ve put a call into the vet but am asking what people have noticed as far as symptoms go as hyperthyroidism has progressed. I want to know what I can expect and what I should be considering in terms of quality of life.

Thank you!
