How long before dry food in opened bag goes bad?

Post Body

Hi, I feel very worried as I realized I might be causing my cats to eat stale/bad dry food!

For reference, I usually buy big bags of dry kibble; and leave it in the bag and roll it up tight. I have 4 big bags of like 20 lbs each, and they've been sitting there for atleast 2 months. I've read that they go stale quickly unless in a container. I'm planning on throwing them all out, but would you say it's safe to give them? I'm buying an air tight container and more cat food as we speak.
