Introducing my cat's new kitten to old family dog?

Post Body

Hi there! My cat just had a kitten a few days ago unexpectedly, we didn't know she was pregnant (first pregnancy!!!) and turns out she was and ended giving birth in a closet! We just found out today about a week later and so since my family is new to this, we did our research and stuff like that. We don't want to take her to the vet now since our cat seems very adamant on staying with her baby ofc but we are going to cross that road once we are financially able too along side seeing if she can handle the travel!

My question is - how do we introduce the kitten to our old family dog?

He is pretty harmless and can't move around on his own to much. He is a small dog, literally around the same size as our cat and my cat and dog get along pretty normally, my dog doesn't bother the cat and the cat doesn't bother the dog. They can be in the same room together without a fight and without being supervised as well and they've shared the same home since 2018

We are worried that our cat will go into mommy bear mode if he tries to sniff the baby once she brings the baby out into more areas of the home, so we want to know if there was any tips for The future !
