So I've just booked some train tickets to London for when I go see the Rolling Stones.
As I have an unused open return I've decided to buy a single. Looked on National rail and see I can get a single (with Railcard) for £11.45!
Great I'm having that! Tried to book it through the 2 operators, but the first their website was denying me access and then the second wouldn't even show me the option! Despite the second showing an option for exactly the same train, just a different connecting route, for £29.70!
In the end I did manage to get through to the first operators website and book the tickets.
However I want this to be warning to all you people to do your research when booking train tickets. They will try to force you to pay more for the same train!
