What are the spooky/creepy Philippine traditions/folklore that you know?
Post Body
My bestfriend and I just randomly had a chat about it and now I'm curious of what everyone else's stories! Lemme share some of mine:
- According sa tita/lola ko, the reason why babies are called with a different name before they are baptized is so that di daw sila "makuha" ng mga mumu. This is so that malito yung mumu kasi ibang name tinatawag yung baby.
- (My fav!!!!) Saying "Tao po" when greeting someone inside a house is not because tinatawag mo yung mga tao sa loob ng bahay, it is to announce na tao kayo and hindi kayo mumu.
Extra: My bestfriend said babies are not supposed to be shown in front of mirrors until a certain age, she found out when she was playing with her niece pero she didn't know why bawal. Anyone able to explain?
