I forgot my umbrella the other day and it was raining so much, didn't look like it would stop anytime soon so I started walking home like it was nothing. As I was about to cross the street an older lady saw me and went "Hey! Come here." she gestured me to come closer then shared her umbrella with me. "You might get sick."
At this point the rain was starting to get really bad that it's hard to see, there's no stoplights either. I raised my arm so the cars would stop, they did. Once we were across the road the lady asked where I'm walking to and when I answered she said she lived nearby, so I can walk with her 'til then.
When we reached her house she tried giving me her umbrella, I got shy and said it's fine I live a block away (i didn't), thanked her, then walked away. I saw her still standing by her doorstep looking after me so I waved and said thank you again, she said "It's fine!! Go home!!"
When I was close to my house a man saw me and asked if I was okay. I said "Sorry, I forgot my umbrella." and he said its okay just get home safely. So yeah, strangers are nice.
