Remembered a story from times past while answering someone's question on scones
Post Body

TL;DR) My young, half-awake self grabbed the wrong bowl and ruined my day before it even began.

So I was describing what a scone was, at least from my experience, and I put in a friendly warning that said that scones and biscuits look similar, but are vastly different. I also advised against using scones for biscuits and gravy.

Then I remembered an unmentionable horror story from my childhood involving what I thought was gravy. So get out the eyebleach, cuz this is a doozy.

It was a typical Monday morning, school-aged me came into the kitchen feeling absolutely terrible, because I get the privilege of getting up at dark:thirty from my comfy bed to go deal with government bullcrap for $0 an hour. Anyway I realized there were leftover biscuits and gravy from the previous day. So I grab what I assumed was the gravy (the thing I grabbed was a white substance that behaved like Jello when refrigerated, with little pieces of meat strewn about it, and that's what my family's sausage gravy looked like, at least in my half-awake reality.) and the biscuits.

Fix it up, heat it, sit down and take a bite of my breakfast only to realize what I had on my biscuit wasn't gravy, but stroganoff sauce from the previous nights dinner. Cue me gagging on the culinary felony I just committed, utilising the flavor of steak and mushrooms on a reheated biscuit that came in a can at 7 AM on a Monday.

Breakfast was not had that day.

School was skipped that day.

Family learned an important lesson that day.

LABEL YOUR LEFTOVERS! and for the love of groceries, don't have stroganoff and biscuits and gravy on the same day.

Anyone else have any morning mixups? Or awful food combos that wake you up in a not so nice way? Feel free to share your experiences!
