So my school's college of engineering is having an awards ceremony, and I was selected to receive an award by the CS department. I read the email and noticed that it was happening on 4/9, but when I went to enter it into my calendar, I put it on 4/2.

I didn't double-check the accuracy of the date and assumed that the ceremony was happening today the whole time. I even carried my suit to campus and got dressed. However, I was standing around in my suit about fifteen minutes before the ceremony, and I thought to myself, wait, am I sure the ceremony is happening today?

I pulled out my phone and checked one of the confirmation emails. Yup, it's next week. Thankfully, I caught the mistake before I walked over to the building, but it was still inconvenient to be all dressed up with nowhere to go. ^{I was even expecting a free dinner :(}
