Why do people have a strong dislike for music genres?

I like to personally listen to different types of music and find something I like from anything but I’ve come across plenty of people who will die on the hill of not liking things like country, rap, pop, etc. I just kinda wanna understand how people can dislike a whole genre of something if they don’t wanna give it a shot
