FaceTime in public?

I’ve started to notice recently that more and more people opt to use FaceTime when out in public over a more traditional voice only call. Is this something you do? If so why do you choose that path?
Personally I would be too self conscious to FaceTime in public but I want to know what I’m missing out on!!
