I've noticed that itβs becoming increasingly difficult to connect with people beyond just a quick "hello" in passing. Each week seems to bring more challenges in finding opportunities to hang out or really get to know someone. It often feels like interactions are limited to fleeting moments, and building deeper connections requires more effort than ever. I wonder if others feel the same way. Is it just me, or have social interactions become more challenging for everyone? What do you think?
Hmmmmmmm, city folk are a bit more reserved, so you'll have to be more careful in picking your audience. Living in a city comes with the baggage of knowing your chances of bumping into someone or something trying to mess with you or take advantage of you.
Consider your choice of local and the type of people that would be there, a busy walkway, parking lot or some such would likely have more cautious/on-guard people, while a small thrift store or public park might have more open-minded people that would appreciate a good sense of humor/laugh.
Know your scene and how to frame yourself in it and you'll be surprised to see what makes others smile.
I usually find being silly usually helps break the ice with mostly people, I'm really good at making a fool of myself on purpose and laughing it off with others.
Just the other day I made a nice old lady laugh by washing dishes, I used a soap pump that squirted all the soap perfectly up my sleeve, tried washing it with water only made it worse, I somehow kept making worse by thinking aloud and getting nervous.
I hadn't noticed she was there till she was laughing and I frantically explained the situation and she laughed harder. Stuff like that happens to me a lot π , accidentally or on purpose, I make a lot of friends and people usually remember me better than I remember them so I can't complain.
