Are search engines nerfing search result quality to force users to use their AI?

I swear, Iโll type my search in 3 different ways to attempt to get more specific results, and every time same 12 articles or whatever.
Maybe I got worse at searching, but damn I canโt find more niche/specific information anymore.

No search results have just been turning into increasingly worse slop for 5-8 years at this point.
Chatgpt's roaring success is to a major degree the result of search engine's failures.
Like Google is basically as bad as Fireball or Yahoo nowadays.
