I don’t think the general public has Superhero fatigue, I think they have universe fatigue.

Just like the title says. I think ever since The Avengers came out in 2012 and even more so since Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 Hollywood has been milking connected universes and multiverses WAY past what they should have. Two prime examples are Warner Bros rushing production of the DCEU after the Avengers and 90% of the projects Marvel has released since Endgame.

I believe that the fatigue felt by people would disappear if we went back to stand-alone movies or at the very least keep most of it to throwaway lines such as Coulson saying “Fury’s got me going to New Mexico” or any sporadic reference about “The guy with the hammer”. None of this “Justice League reference 2 movies in” or Superman in Black Adam.

It doesn't help that they're now adapting arcs that were bad when they came out.
