What does everyone's inner monologue sound like?
Post Body

Hi, I'm seeking to understand the inner monologue and the differences between peoples inner voices by asking some questions about what it sounds like in their heads. I'm building a personality system that focuses on inner monologue as it's basis with the hope of making characters more believeable and relatable in my writings. Also, just find it fascinating that people can have completely different experiences in the heads with completely different focuses.
Anywho, from what I've found out so far there's usually the main voice (Ego) which is the voice that is completely under your control and says and does what you want it to. Basically, the voice that only speaks when you get it to speak and doesn't say anything when you aren't saying anything.
Then there's the suppressed voice (Id) where it's your unrealistic or downright selfish thoughts that a good person avoids listening to because they aren't reasonable or well-thought out. The suppressed voice isn't exactly under your control and tends to talk even if you'd rather it didn't. I've also noted that the suppresed voice usually speaks in 2nd-person (you, your) as if it's talking from a different perspective/person in some people.
Then there's the third, much quieter voice, that we'll call the style voice (Superego) that shows up everynow and then that is rare enough and sane enough that it's a pleasant distraction from your main voice and suppressed voice butting heads all the time. This one seems to speak in 2nd or even 3rd person for most and is the most "outside" and uncontrolled of all the voices.
I have a theory that there's a fourth voice that people are lacking which has a great deal to do with personality, but I'm just starting out and was hoping to get some input on other's inner voices.
I'll start with my own as an example. My main voice (Ego) is pretty calm and quiet and focuses mainly on how to make things more efficent or looking at things through the lens of math and numbers. My suppressed voice (Id) could be compared to an above-worldly-concerns surfer dude that just wants things to be laid back and easy with everything delivered on a silver-platter without any actual effort. It doesn't usually use pronous and more just talks about how "cool" or "awesome" something would or would not be. As for my quiet voice (Superego), it's pretty rare but tries to cheer me up and encourage me to keep going, like a doting friend or optimistic fan. It usually talks in third person as if it's telling someone about me instead of talking to "me" directly.
Thanks in advance for help in this matter and for sharing.
