S5.E23 - a whistleblower was murdered by a car bomb. Department of Homeland security stepped in. Told Beckett this is their case now and if they involve themselves then they will be arrested with obstruction of justice. DHS even took all financials, blocked off his law office, etc. They blocked them at every turn, so did the military...
Soooo why did the 12th precinct continue to investigate? Wouldn't any normal, real life local homicide detectives back off at that point? It's no longer their jurisdiction. Faaar beyond their jurisdiction at that.
Anywho, I know it's kind of ridiculous to find logic in some episodes 😂 but still.
