I’ve had my cast iron pan in a Lu solution for almost a week now, and while a lot of the old seasoning has come off, there is still a good amount left. Should I just leave it in there for longer or add more lye crystals to up the concentration?
Post Body
Lye* not Lu.
I’m not sure how much water I’ve used but i don’t think it’s more than 5 gallons. I added 1lb of 100% lye crystals to the water, stirred then added the pan.
The water has turned a dark color since I added the pan, but there are still a few seasoned spots that refuse to come off. What do?
