If Cascadia were to become an actual nation state the pre-existing regional identities would likely take some time to dissipate.
British Columbians, Washingtonians, Oregonians, and possibly Iadahoans and Northern Californians all have distinct cultures and regional identities that would need to break down, if they ever do.
Should Cascadia lean into that and have provinces, like Canada, or states, like the US? Should there be a concerted cultural unification effort to break down the existing identities and simplify down to more local division like counties? Existing counties or reengineered ones? Or other?
What are your thoughts?
