So my son has a 2003 LeSabre. He recently replace the gaskets (a known issue with this car as they used plastic ones) and we noticed white smoke when he starts the car. It does look like it continues to a much smaller degree after a few seconds and the longer it sits the more white smoke comes out at start up. I smelled it and it did not have that distinctive sweet smell of burning coolant, so I’m thinking either it’s burning off condensation or it’s burning some oil. I’m not that familiar with this engine. Is it likely to be burning oil at this age? Any ideas what to check?
