Brother bought this old ford truck non running. He bought it fully knowing the "400 runs on 6 cylinders." He brought it to me and I'm a fleet diesel mechanic and asked me to Compression Test it. I don't own this tool, I remember doing it in High School shop 10 years ago.
I asked my tool truck rep and the cost of their's was more than what my brother paid for the pile of truck.
Amazon has OTC 5605 Compression Tester for $75 or Mityvac 5530 for $61. Are these good products or waste of money? Which compression tester would you recommend. I was hoping to spend less than $100.
