Hello, Reddit. Long time lurker, first time poster, sorry for editing errors, I am posting this from mobile. My friend has an 06 Focus that will shut off in the morning right after being started but will start up just fine right after that. It only shuts off the first time in the morning and at no other time. After it dies that first time it is fine the rest of the day. His mechanic advised us to replace the MAP sensor, which we did, but he is still experiencing the same problems. The vehicle also hesitates and struggles to go past 45 miles an hour. His filter is good, and thereโs nothing being blocked in his intake, and the throttle body works just fine, I am starting to suspect maybe his mass air flow sensor is bad as well (the car has both a map and a maf sensor). The mechanic has also suggested we replace the ignition coils, which we plan to do soon, but I still think it could be something else, any ideas reddit? Any advice is appreciated, thank you.
