Post Body

Ok, so hopefully you all can save my a ton of money in AC repairs.

My AC compressor will rapidly cycle when engine output is low. Low speed, especially at idle, it sounds almost like an impact.

Get up to a consistent speed it reduces, at highway speeds everything stays fine.

This started a couple weeks after recharging the system with a kit. IT does blow colder than it did prior to the kit, but not quite as cold as when I first got the car. It does blow coldish when at idle with the hammering going on, so it's definitely not entirely dead.

I didn't get very far into the filled zone on the pressure gauge from the kit, because the positioning of my low side port is terrible and the hose wasn't very long- the shaking of the can the kit recommended wasn't really possible.

Any tips? I've seen some suggestions that filling up more might help(will get a longer hose if I try this). I was also thinking this sounds like it might just be the clutch- how viable is it to replace just that or am I looking at replacing the whole compressor? How likely is it that a salvage yard compressor would be viable?

I'll also have the wheels off to replace my brake pads later this week, anything to look for when I'm on that corner?
