I May Have Made a Mistake
Post Body

Hey /r/cartalk,

Short version of the story is, I put in long tube headers into my 1976 Chevy Malibu, and the mufflers we got didn't fit, so now I have no mufflers. I'm essentially driving what sounds like a semi crossed with a motorcycle. The car sounds like a hellbeast. It sets off car alarms when I drive through parking lots. I'm terrified of getting a noise ordinance ticket because my car is registered in another state (where my legal residence is).

Should I just not drive it until I get the new mufflers, or risk it and tell the officer the parts are on order if I get pulled over? If I don't drive it I have to go live with a friend for the week.
