Hello friends! I have been watching a lot of videos on YouTube where people buy just the base variant of a car and get it modified to the top end variant. These car modification shops also claim to install genuine OEM equipment without voiding the warranty. And the cost of such a upgrade appears lot more affordable as compared to paying the premium for the top end variant. Unfortunately, all of these mod shops in the videos are from Delhi. i am based out of Bangalore, so looking for local solution. Below are my queries.

1) Is it really possible to modify the car from base variant to top end variant without voiding the warranty? If that is possible, why would people spend lakhs on the top variant when the same can be achieved at fraction of the cost?

2) Is there anyone in this forum with actual experience who can comment on the long term impact of making such modifications? What about maintenance and handling dealers during servicing of the car?

3) Finally, my most important question, are there any such trustworthy and reliable car modification shops in Bangalore? I haven't heard or seen people talk about any such modification shops in this city.

I am actually planning to buy my 2nd car. I haven't yet decided which car to buy yet but it will be a sub-10 lakh car. And I am really keen on exploring this option of modifying the car from base to top variant.

Edit: Thank you so much for sharing your views. After reading through all your comments, I have decided not to do any such modifications that can directly or even indirectly impact safety, insurance, maintanence and last but not least, peace of mind.
