New Kia Carens Premium Opt vs. Used Mahindra XUV500 (2017) โ€” Need Advice!

Post Body

Hey everyone,

Iโ€™m in the market for a new car and need some suggestions on what would be the best option given my budget and requirements. Iโ€™m currently debating between buying a new Kia Carens Premium Opt variant or going for a used Mahindra XUV500 from around 2017. My budget is around 13 lakh.

Why the confusion?

  1. Kia Carens: Leaning towards this because itโ€™s a new car, comes with modern features, and I like the design. Iโ€™ve read good things about its comfort and drive quality.

  2. Mahindra XUV500: A few family members are big fans of the XUV, and it has that strong SUV presence and space, which is great for family trips. But, due to the budget, Iโ€™ll have to look for a second-hand option (maybe 2017 or earlier models).

Main Concerns:

  1. Diesel Restrictions in Maharashtra: Are there any specific rules for diesel cars in Maharashtra, especially regarding registration or driving in certain areas? Would it make sense to invest in a diesel SUV like the XUV?

  2. Reliability and Maintenance: Iโ€™m worried about the maintenance costs of an older XUV500 vs. a brand new Kia Carens. Which one would be better long-term?

  3. Resale Value: Which of these would hold better resale value if I plan to upgrade in a few years?

Would love to hear your thoughts or any other car suggestions around the same budget, maybe from Spinny or similar companies.

Thanks in advance! ๐Ÿ™
