The more roads we build, the more traffic we attract. It's a concept known as "Induced Demand." When we build more roads, we often think it will reduce congestion. However, the opposite tends to happen. Increased road capacity can lead to more traffic as people change their driving behavior and more vehicles hit the road. This isn't just a theory-it's a well-documented phenomenon in urban planning and transportation studies. The more roads we build, the more traffic we attract, essentially leading to the same or even worse congestion levels we originally aimed to alleviate.

This country would be elite with trams. In Germany we use trams that stopped every other KM. It’s so good. Here I’ve got to take my car or an auto to go 3-4km away from my house if I’m in a hurry. We’d solve so many issues with good public transport management. We’d free up roads and get more cars off the streets too.
