Hey Guys... HNY
Follow this sub a bit - don't post often.
Here is the first "What budget SUV should I get"
I'm self-employed and need to tow trailers once or twice a week... sometimes more, sometimes less... and mostly highway driving in Melbourne, sometimes in and out of paddocks (but not rough driving/bush bashing at all).
Usually around 2 tonne... envision a dual axle trailer, equipment on the back type thing...
Most of the other time - I would actually use it as a run-about, dropping kids off, odd jobs and so on... so I really don't need a full blown tradie work horse... but a good, family type car with towing guts would be ideal.
I'm really not a car person either. I just want it to be reliable, economical (where possible) - doesn't need to be showy... but just connect to my blue tooth, have little creature comforts to ensure hooking on/off is easy... and just comfortable.
And of course... on BUDGET
I've taken the LDV T60 off the list - people have said if you want long term, these won't deliver... and whilst at $45k - may not be worth the drama if you get one that is a problem.
A friend said grab a Hilux - spend $20k now more ($65k) - but it will be as good as 2 x LDV's.
I've also been hearing some OK things about Ssang Yong Musso - or even the Rexton - as the Rexton at around $60k seems to tick all the boxes being a family car, have all the tech/whistles... but able to tow when I need it.
Also - the Isuzu - MU -X.
Any ideas would be helpful... ideally getting something with 7 year warranty and new ish, or demo, or near new with balance of warranty is what I'm after.
Appreciate all/any input you can
Cheers
