Pre-hung door question for you guys

Customer provided me with a pre-hung door to install. I didn't want to do jamb extensions and customer wanted to change the hinges (to square corners) anyway, so I made new jambs and re-hung it. When I was mortising for hinges I noticed that the hinge edge was beveled and the lock side was not. Was that just a plain mistake from the mill or am I missing something?
